The ALTA MINI Performance intake system pulls cold air from the factory air ram duct in the grille and through the vent below the windshield. This is the only intake system that is fed a constant supply of cool fresh air. Throttle response, horsepower, torque and drivability will all improve with the installation of the ALTA MINI Performance Intake System. The new ALTA MINI Performance air box is formed from cold rolled steel. Laser cut and CNC bent to perfection. Power coated for protection and an O.E.M. look.

The new air box top will fit perfectly into the bottom of your factory air box. The box will be sealed to the underside of the hood and prevent under hood heat from entering the intake stream. Our high flow foam filter reduces intake restriction and increases the surface area from which the engine can ingest clean air. Unlike cotton and gauze type filters, foam filters allow for multi layer filtration. A single layer will cause dirt to build on top of dirt. As more and more dirt collects the filter will start to restrict air flow into the engine. The ALTA MINI Performance foam based filter will trap dirt at different levels within the filter. This allows for higher flow rates, better particulate restriction and will not reduce HP as the filter gets dirty. Finally the rubber inlet hose connecting the air box to the throttle body is also replaced. The factory part is corrugated and ribbed on the inside. Turbulence is created and air flow velocity is reduced, compromising throttle response and upper end HP. Our silicone hose is mirror smooth promoting a high velocity air charge. All silicone pieces are produced in our signature high gloss blue to dress up the engine bay stock air intake system.
